Stage 02 · AnalysisCFD simulations
Airflow and thermal simulations show how air and heat actually distribute in your room – before you build, convert or increase density.
What it is about
Rising power densities make cooling the bottleneck. Whether a cooling concept works, whether hot spots form or warm air flows back into the cold aisle can hardly be judged from experience alone. A CFD simulation makes these effects visible and lets you compare options before you invest.
Because I look at cooling and power supply together, failure scenarios and redundancy are part of the assessment.
Scope
- 3D model of the room, racks, cooling units and air paths
- Simulation of temperature and airflow fields
- Hot-spot and recirculation analysis
- Assessment of cooling concepts such as cold- or hot-aisle containment, raised floor or in-row cooling
- Failure scenarios for individual cooling units
- Comparison and optimisation of options
Result
You receive a report with temperature and airflow plots, an assessment of the options studied and concrete recommendations.
Typical situations
- Planning new data halls or plant rooms
- Higher rack densities, for example for AI or HPC systems
- Temperature problems in existing rooms
- Checking by simulation whether cooling remains sufficient if one unit fails
