Stage 03 · AssessmentSingle point of failure analyses
I systematically search for the points where a single failure interrupts your supply – electrical, mechanical and in the controls – and show you how to eliminate them.
What it is about
An installation can be fully redundant on paper and still depend on a single point: a shared busbar, a controller, a cooling circuit or a cable route. Such single points of failure often only become apparent when they fail.
I trace the supply paths across all disciplines and check whether the planned redundancy really holds during maintenance and fault conditions.
Scope
- Analysis of supply paths from infeed to load
- Assessment of redundancy (N, N+1, 2N) for power, cooling and controls
- Failure scenarios, including maintenance states
- Identification of shared dependencies that affect several paths at once
- Prioritised catalogue of measures with an estimate of effort
Result
You receive a report with the topology, the single points of failure found, a risk assessment and a prioritised catalogue of measures.
Typical situations
- Before commissioning or after conversions
- Technical due diligence when buying or taking over a site
- After an incident, to prevent similar failures
- Preparing for certifications or customer audits
