Design of power and automation systems
From the first load balance to the developed design: I design medium- and low-voltage installations and the control and automation technology that monitors and controls them – with availability, selectivity and safe operation in mind.
What it is about
A power supply for critical infrastructure has to do more than distribute electricity: it must cope with the failure of individual components, disconnect selectively when a fault occurs and remain maintainable without stopping operations. These requirements are decided in the concept and developed design – long before the first switchgear is ordered.
I combine power engineering with control and automation technology so that metering, monitoring and control are part of the design from the start.
Scope
- Requirements analysis and load balance
- Supply and redundancy concepts such as N+1 or 2N
- Concept and developed design of medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers and main distribution boards
- Single-line diagrams and installation documentation
- Concepts for control and automation technology, metering and energy monitoring
- Coordination with the grid operator, other engineers and the operator
Result
You receive single-line diagrams, a load balance and an explanatory report that serve as a sound basis for detailed design or a tender.
Typical situations
- New build or extension of a data centre or industrial site
- Capacity increase, new grid connection or additional infeed
- Modernisation of switchgear and control and automation technology
