Prototypes of embedded and industrial systems

From idea to working sample: I develop measurement, control and signal-processing systems on PLCs, FPGAs, SoCs and microcontrollers – including schematic and printed circuit board.

What it is about

Some tasks cannot be solved with standard components: a measurement that has to react within microseconds, a controller for a special process, or an assembly that is no longer available. A prototype proves the function early and under real conditions.

My strength lies at the interface between hardware and installation: I know which signals a power installation provides and develop the electronics that capture and process them reliably.

Scope

  • Requirements analysis and system architecture, including the split between FPGA logic and processor
  • FPGA design in VHDL with simulation and verification
  • SoC platforms such as PYNQ/Zynq with software integration
  • Firmware for microcontrollers and IoT devices
  • PLC programming for control tasks
  • Schematic and PCB layout
  • Commissioning and testing of the sample

Result

You receive a working prototype with source code, schematic, layout data and documentation – as the basis for series development or, once conformity requirements (e.g. CE marking) have been addressed, for use in your installation.

Typical situations

  • Proof of concept for a new measurement or control function
  • Real-time signal processing that a processor alone cannot handle
  • Replacement of discontinued or unavailable electronics
